So here’s my story…..it basically started the moment I picked up my kids from school. I drove up & could see my kindergartner, McKay, crying. He was upset because he had lost his gloves & hat. I reassured him that all would be okay & they’d probably turn up in lost & found, but it took him a while to stop crying about it. Then I stopped by the bank to cash some checks & as I was leaving I realized they had shorted me $20. So we had to wait while they sorted it all out. I then took all three kids (7, 5, & almost 3) to the mall to get some winter clothes. I had to go by myself because my husband is out of town every week & it had started snowing that day. I braced myself & walked into the mall. Things were going good until Maci (7) found an unopened sucker & decided to claim it. Before I knew it all 3 kids were fighting over who got to hold this unidentified sucker. I said they shouldn’t even be eating candy they found, but before I could take it away, Maci took a final bite & finished it off. My almost-3-year-old, Chloe, starting wailing because she wanted the sucker. I quickly paid for my items & exited the store. Unfortunately I still had to go to Target to find coats. While I was trying a coat on Maci, I looked up to see Chloe taking off down the aisle with her pants around her ankles. I grabbed her & (besides being extremely embarrassed) realized she had a really dirty diaper. So we headed off towards the bathroom where I used up every last baby wipe I had. When we finally made it to the check-out counter, my debit card was declined. I tried 2 more times, same thing. I tried my credit card, same thing. Luckily I’d just gotten cash from the bank for our upcoming trip, so I used that instead. We headed out into the freezing cold night, thankful the shopping trip was over. Chloe took one step into the car & threw up all over everything! All I could think to myself was, “Seriously?! We just walked through the parking lot & you waited until you stepped into the car?!” Of course I knew it wasn’t her fault, but it was just my luck. Then I remembered I had no more wipes. So I took all 3 kids back into Target, back into the bathroom, where I cleaned up Chloe & grabbed a ton of paper towels. We then went back outside into the cold wind (I live in Wyoming) & cleaned out the back seat of the car. On the way home I called my husband & told him our cards had been declined & asked if he knew why. He looked into it & found that someone had spent $430 at a boutique shop in New York, so our bank had put a hold on any further purchases. We got home, walked in the door, & Chloe started throwing up again. Just before bed, I checked my email & saw that an online company had canceled an order I’d just put in the day before because the card had been declined. It was something I’d ordered for my husband’s birthday & I was so proud of myself for getting it done ahead of time…go figure. And that was the end to my “horrible, terrible, no good, very bad day”. :)In honor of all of our “THNGVB” days, I’m giving everyone a 40% off COUPON CODE to my entire digital store!
