This challenge really is a challenge! I am not a morning person (never have been), I love my sleep and usually wait until the last minute to drag myself out of bed. I know the power of sacrifice, & I have looked up to those who have sacrificed “sleeping in” for something far greater and more needed. I have always felt that getting up before the rest of the household was important; I was just never committed enough to do it. This challenge has helped me find the commitment to do it. So far I have enjoyed the quiet preparedness that has come from getting up before the rest of my family. The feeling of “I’m taking care of me so I can take care of them” has been the most prevalent feeling that gets me out of bed so early. I am excited to be on this journey with all of you. Thank you Crystal for all of your hard work and sacrifice so that we can have this amazing challenge together.
Happy Sunny Morning Today I was awake before my alarm went off, 5:30 am, so I got up and made the water for my husband and me. It felt great to be prepared this morning. When my husband woke up at 5:45 am, his comment was, “Why didn’t you wake me up?” I am excited for this challenge and know I need to stay strong on the day I usually sleep in, Saturday. I know that I can do this though, because I just completed a 30 day challenge yesterday that I had set for myself. Thank you Crystal…for everything!!!
Good morning! After my ‘before the crack of dawn’ waking yesterday to get to the airport, I did sleep in a bit (I had only about 12 hrs sleep in the 3 days prior), by 30 mins, but woke up to a beautiful sunny day in Boston. I’m not doing the honey/water & milk at the moment though (no fridge in my hotel room!), but I am adding one line to my affirmation page… I AM A CHILD OF GOD! Thanks Crystal!… Sara, from Bermuda (though in Boston!)
Whew! So I have to say this! For the last several nights I wasn’t able to sleep very well for whatever reason. Maybe too much on my mind. I’m not sure. But I drank my warm milk and honey and right afterwards, was sooooooooo sleepy! I went to bed and fell asleep quicker and slept all night long and didn’t wake up once! I woke up today feeling refreshed and didn’t it my alarm 3 times!! So thank you for sharing that! I told my husband about it and my mom! So awesome! LOL Hubby tried to steal my milk last night… hehehehe! So I am filling out my prayer journal right now! Adios friends!
Day Two activities complete and I feel great! I couldn’t wait to wake up and see the new post It really helps to have something fun to look forward to in the morning, great idea, especially for the first week!! See you all tomorrow morning, have a wonderful day
Finished our day 2 challenge. Thank you so much for the prayer journal. What a great idea it really helped me to remember all that I wanted to pray for or what was on my mind. So many times I have things I want to go to prayer about but once I start prayer I forget something (even though God knows them all ) =)
Okay, started Day 2 and really enjoyed the water. I’ve never really noticed how thirsty I am in the morning until that water quenched my thirst. Completed the prayer journal. Now on to make my day wonderful.
Assignment for day two complete. Feeling refreshed and renewed and looking forward to what the day has to offer…..looking forward to tonight’s warm milk.
Day 2 is officially started. I’m so looking forward to the prayer aspect of this challenge. Dedicated prayer time has always been a weakness in my life and it is so helpful to have some direction and focus as I make it more of a daily habit. Thank you!
Day 2– done! Thanks Crystal for this prayer journal, what a great way to keep it all together (because inside my head it all gets lost!). You’ve mentioned a gratitude journal but I haven’t seen anything specific about that. Is there a post from another time for that?
I love this prayer journal form! I enjoyed reading The Help this summer and I’m looking forward to starting to harness the power of prayer in my own life. Yesterday I prayed for the fire victims in Honduras. I like categorizing my prayers for better balance. Oh yes, I forgot – I’m in San Diego. My 6 y.o. got up early today and did my morning Sun Salutation stretches with me – she had herbal tea while I had my lemon water (the twins were up early for nursing so I started later). Also, instead of late phone calls (I don’t have a cell) I’m emailing an old friend. It’s already resulted in a scheduled breakfast on Mon. morning for 2 of my old bridesmaids that I haven’t seen in ages!! I love this. I feel better ALL day.
Hi! I got up a little late today. I’ll try harder tomorrow. I like the affirmation statement. I felt better inside after reading it. Thanks Crystal. I’m excited for the prayer journal.
Set my alarm last night to get my day started right this morning, printed my prayer journal today…love the small steps in a positive direction! Thank you!
I’m doing it! Set my alarm last night for the first time in a LONG time. Did the affirmations. Drank lemon water – Yum! Printed prayer journal. I’m having fun and getting more done
Day two is done. I’ve completed my assignment. I am so thankful for the accountability, I’m going through a life transition and I really need something to help me create a new routine…so thanks for the motivation!
This has come at the perfect time. I am getting up at 7:30 and can already tell the difference by having some “me” time to start off the day. Still trying to love the water…. I am sure I will adapt quickly!
I’m checking in and heading to bed. I love starting my day intentionally. Thank you for inspiring change. I feel more in control of the first few minutes of the day and that is empowering. I think about the day before being pulled into the whirlwind. My early morning, more focused prayers are connecting me stronger with heaven. I’m hoping my body adjusts to the wee hours because after hitting snooze three times this morning . . . I wasn’t the favorite in the room.
All done day 2. I am excited to create new routines to help me focus and get my day off to a great start.
I do have one question that maybe you or someone else might have a suggestion for.
I work full time, on a midnight shift. My schedule is to work 4 days for 10hr shifts. After those 4 days are over I revert back to a ‘normal’ sleep cycle for the next 3 days and then back to sleeping during the days when I return to work.
I am trying hard to wake to wake up at the same time everyday, that is difficult with my schedule, so I was wondering if you (or any one else) might have some suggestions to getting the most out of this while working shift work.
Thanks so much for all your work and sharing your talents and knowledge.
a little bit more trying to get out of bed at 6am this morning. My husband is a basketball coach and last night we had a game (lost by 1 ). All that to say, we didn’t get to be until midnight. But my sweet husband told me “time to get up” when my alarm rang. And, my sweet friend texted me “good morning.” i love this challenge. I so enjoy getting up in the mornings and starting my day out right! love the honey lemon water and the prayer journal. so good to have focus and different areas to pray for. I can’t wait for the gratitude journal! Will there be a printable?
Thank you so much for doing this! So good to have a bit of structure/routine!
I am a few days behind everyone else, but am loving this challenge. Like others, it’s super hard for me to get up this early in the morning (at 6). But my buddy texted me and that seriously gives me motivation! I am excited to keep using this prayer journal and to see how this becomes a habit in my life! Thanks for the challenge!

I woke up with my alarm at 4:40 but accidentally shut if off instead of hit snooze. That’s okay. I was still up at 5:30. My goal is 5…not so bad.
I LOVE this prayer journal!! Day 2 was great!! I LOVE this challenge and I am loving the drinks…Yum!

I was successful at getting up earlier today. I bombed at that one on Day 1. Did not complete all of the assignments, but will play catch up tomorrow.
Day 2 done!
Short and sweet note made a difference in someone’s day…thanks for the challenge!
Day 2 is done! I loved the drink last night too and just bought 5 lemons at the store tonight for my morning drinks.
Loving this so far!
Day 2 complete;). Made a huge difference in starting my day out so peacefully! I am so excited about the prayer journal!
I forgot to respond yesterday. I completed day two successfully. It feels great to wake up early. Love the prayer journal.

I had a great day today! The prayer journal is ingenious. Thank you!
I love the way the prayer journal is broken down into different categories, it really makes me think of different things and areas to pray for.
Love the prayer journal. This is great
